Birdy’s Behind the Bower is a busy breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot perched in the back of a modern mixed-use development, serving Southern-inspired, locally-sourced American cuisine alongside a welcoming outdoor courtyard.
Aiming to cater to those looking for a fun, delicious brunch experience, the Birdy’s team approached AKA with just a name, and asked us to roll with it. We leaned in and developed a playful, cheeky brand that appeals to friends, families, as well as the classic brunch aficionados: bachelorette groups, tourists, and pre-gamers.

The epitome of a flexible branding system, Birdy’s boasts two primary logos that work interchangeably. The hand-lettered brush script is drawn from the illustration style, while the typeset, blocky logo pulls you right in.
We created the brand’s signature flock of bird characters, and then applied them to a multitude of applications from menu, to takeout packaging, to gifs for Birdy’s online presence.
In serving guests who value aesthetics just as much as a great bite, the Birdys team benefits from a flexible branding system. The wealth of illustrations and logo variations played out perfectly through various print and packaging assets, as well as within the space.
